Your Member Journey

How Elite Singles Canada Works

This page walks through the actual member experience: creating and verifying an account, building a profile, finding people through Discover and search, and moving from a first interest signal to a private conversation.

It also covers navigation, Basic and Premium access, privacy controls, and how to reach Support — so you know where each tool lives before you need it.

The Big Picture

Getting Started

Create and Verify Your Elite Singles Account

Registration asks for the basics first: your email, your gender, the gender(s) you're interested in meeting, and a password. You'll confirm you meet the minimum age requirement and accept the Terms and Privacy Policy before your account is created.

After registering, you'll be asked to verify your email address before the account is fully active. Verification confirms the email is real and working — it is not a criminal background check, an identity check or proof of income, and Elite Singles Canada does not describe it that way.

Use an email you check regularly rather than a work address you might lose access to. If you try to register again with a different email later, you'll likely end up with a second, disconnected account instead of your original one — sign in instead if you already have a profile.

If Something Goes Wrong

  • Verification email not received — check spam or junk, then request it again
  • Entered the wrong email — contact Support before creating a second account
  • Forgotten password — use the reset link on the sign-in page
  • Duplicate account — sign in with the original email instead of registering again
  • Login method mismatch — use the same method you originally signed up with
Your Profile

Build the Profile Other Members Will See

Your main photo is public and appears wherever your profile is shown. Additional photos can sit in a private album that other members must request access to before they're visible — a useful way to share more without making everything public by default.

Photo Rules

Accepted as JPG, GIF or PNG, at least 330×440 pixels and under 50MB. New photos are typically reviewed within 24 hours. Nudity, blood or firearms, anyone under 20 photographed alone, photos with minors, and images featuring cash are all rejected.

Profile Video

A short recorded introduction, 10 to 60 seconds long and under 200MB, with your face clearly visible. It includes its own description field. This is a recorded upload, not a live video call.

Illustrative interface example. "Photo Verified" is a real, confirmed filter members can browse by.

Beyond photos, the profile includes fields for your basic details, location and the preferences you're browsing with. This page covers what exists and how it's used — for guidance on what to actually write, see what other professional singles notice first.

Showing Interest

Understand Likes, Winks, Views and Connections

View ProfileShow InterestInterest ReturnedMutual MatchConversation
TermWhat It Means
LikeA lightweight interest signal sent from a profile or Discover card
WinkA free interest signal, tracked separately from Likes and messages
Likes You / Winked at YouLists in My Lists showing who has sent you each type of interest
Viewed YouA list of members who have recently looked at your profile
Mutual MatchAppears once interest has clearly gone both ways
Private Album AccessA request another member sends to view your private photos

Not every interaction opens a conversation on its own — a Like or a Wink signals interest, but a private message is a separate action. Each of these lists updates in real time rather than on a fixed schedule.

Beyond One-to-One

Join Public Groups, Topic Groups and Community Activities

Community activity sits inside two separate spaces, both reached from Chats: a single Public Group open to the wider membership, and Topic Groups organised around specific interests and professions, such as finance, technology or medicine.

  • Topic Groups can be searched by keyword and filtered by All, Joined, New or Created
  • Any member can create a new Topic Group around a subject they're interested in
  • Joining and chatting in a group is free, separate from private-message permissions
  • Group conversation is visible to other members of that group, unlike a private message
  • Leaving a group removes it from your joined list without deleting your account activity
Two members chatting comfortably in a shared social setting

A message posted in Public Group or a Topic Group is community conversation, not a private exchange — treat it accordingly, and keep anything personal for a one-to-one chat instead.

Getting to a Real Conversation

Move from Public Interaction to Private Chat

Chats separates Private Messages from Free Winks and Unread items, so a lightweight Wink never gets buried under an actual conversation.

Interaction TypeWhere It HappensVisible To
Public InteractionPublic Group or a Topic GroupOther members of that group
ConnectionMy Lists, after mutual interestYou and the other member
Private ConversationChats > Private MessagesOnly the two people messaging
Official Support ConversationChats, marked with an "Official" badgeYou and the Support team

The current messaging rule is stated directly in Chats: Premium members can send a private message to anyone, and recipients can always reply to a Premium member's message without restriction. Chats can be searched by username, archived, and each conversation has its own menu for reporting, blocking, adding a private note, or pinning it to the top of your list — none of that is visible to the other person except a report itself.

Taking Things Further

Plan Your Next Step with Date Manager

Date Manager has its own place in the main navigation, separate from Chats, for keeping track of plans made with a match. This page confirms it exists as a dedicated tool rather than describing its internal steps in detail — open it directly from your account to see the current options, since screen-by-screen behaviour can change.

Access Levels

Understand Basic and Premium Access

Plan details can change, and the checkout screen you see when upgrading always reflects the current terms — this table is a starting point, not the final word.

Full plan comparisons, pricing and renewal terms live on the membership overview, not on this page.

Staying in Control

Control Privacy, Block and Report

Privacy controls sit closer to where you'd use them than in one buried settings menu.

  • Public photos are visible to any member; private album photos require an approved request
  • Each conversation has its own menu with Report and Hide (Block) as separate actions
  • A private note and rating can be added to a conversation, visible only to you
  • A named privacy feature, Confidentiality Guard®, is available from the same conversation menu
  • Reporting a member is the same action whether the concern started in a message or a profile

Elite Singles Canada does not conduct criminal background checks, and no report is promised a specific review time on this page. Our safety guidance covers the judgment calls that sit alongside these tools.

When You Need Help

Contact Support and Send Feedback

Official Support messages appear inside Chats carrying an "Official" badge, which is how you can tell a genuine Support conversation from an ordinary member message.

A feedback form is available for suggestions and issues, with a subject topic, a detailed description field, and optional extras: a callback phone number, a short voice note, and up to nine photos or one short video. Including specifics speeds things up on either channel.

For a technical problem, mention the email on your account, your device and browser or app version, a screenshot if you have one, the exact error message, and roughly when it happened.

A Useful Request Includes

  • Your account email
  • A clear, specific subject
  • Device and browser or app version
  • A screenshot, where relevant
  • The exact error message
  • What you were doing immediately before it happened

You can also reach Customer Care by email. A published telephone line isn't confirmed at this time, so email and the in-account feedback form are the routes to use.

Getting Comfortable

Your First Week on Elite Singles Canada

First Session

Verify your account, check privacy settings, add the essentials to your profile.

Next Visit

Add current photos or a Profile Video, then look at what Discover is showing you.

Finding Profiles

Read full profiles before sending one Like or Wink, and check My Lists for activity.

When a Connection Forms

Start a private message, keep it on-platform at first, and use Date Manager once you're ready.

End of the Week

Revisit your search preferences, clear notifications, and contact Support if anything's unclear.

None of this needs to happen on a schedule — move at whatever pace actually fits your week.

Common Questions

How Elite Singles Works: Frequently Asked Questions

Register with an email and password, confirm you meet the age requirement, accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, and verify your email before your profile becomes active.

Discover uses saved preferences like gender, age, distance and whether you're willing to travel. Quick Search is a separate filter panel based on interest, photo-verified status, age and location by country or province.

A Wink is a free interest signal tracked in its own tab. A Like works similarly and appears in My Lists. A Connection, or Mutual Match, forms once interest has clearly gone both ways.

Premium members can message anyone, and recipients can always reply without restriction. Basic-level messaging limits aren't specified on this page — check your own account for current terms.

A Profile Video is a recorded introduction, 10 to 60 seconds long, that appears on your profile. Moments weren't identified as an active feature in the current version of the platform, so this page focuses on photos and Profile Videos instead.

Not currently identified as a feature. The confirmed video option is the recorded Profile Video, not a live call — treat the two as separate tools.

Starting a private message with someone who hasn't messaged you first is confirmed as a Premium capability. Discover, Quick Search, Winks, and Public and Topic Groups are available on Basic access.

Use Report or Hide (Block) from a conversation's menu, or email support@elitesinglescanada.ca. Genuine Support messages carry an "Official" badge inside Chats.

Start with the Features That Matter to You

You don't need every tool on your first visit. A clear profile, a realistic search or Discover setting, one honest interest signal, and respectful communication cover most of what actually moves things forward — privacy controls are there whenever you need them.
